Ok, thank you to everyone who signed up, and by now the majority of you SHOULD have your assignments. If anyone DID NOT receive a note telling them who to draw for, then LET US KNOW.

Ok, we are trying to fix up some loose ends. Some people still have not turned in their wishlists, Please get those in soon as possible. If anyone has questions, you can note =bunu directly to get an answer much faster.

**Edit the sequel** Alright you guys, problems are starting to pop up because no one wanted to send =bunu a note. She does not bite. Please send her a note if you have not been matched up, your partner has not posted a journal, You feel that their request is a little hard or awkward, or you feel you need to drop out. We want this to be enjoyable. Also, I signed us up for a group ( you can kill me later) I feel it will be easier for events and spotlights.

This year we've decided to do a Secret Santa Art exchange for the chat. Basically, each participant signs up and posts a journal explaining their "wishlist" of art they'd like another participant to create for them. Participants are matched at random and will draw for another random participant in turn.

Step 1:

-Sign up in this journal by November 25th.



Step 2:

-Create a journal titled, "To My Secret Santa" with 3 different options for people to draw and be sure to include references pics, or a detailed description if you don't have any._{(The journal does not have to be made until matches are made but if you want to make it earlier, you can)}

For example, if you'd like your original character to be drawn, give some links to pics of that character and describe their personality in a sentence or two. Do this for another 2 of your original characters, or even existing characters if you'd like some fanart of your favourite character. Give some clues as to what you would want in the picture, "bob enjoying the winter weather". Try not to be too specific, or too vague.

-Note this account with the link to your journal.



Step 3:

-On Dececmber 1st, check your notes to see who you will have to draw for. You have the entire month of December to draw and post your gift. Link or note that person to show them your gift, and note us so we know that you've completed your half.


Step 4:

-Have fun and enjoy your gift! This event is just for fun and should not be taken too seriously. Please be happy with what you receive and don't complain if its an honest try at what you wanted.

-No porn or art which otherwise breaks DA's rules.
-Non Members of the AA chat are free to join.
-It need not be a christmas or winter themed picture, but please try to stay close to the wishes of the person you're drawing for.
-please give it a good effort. People who are seen to be taking advantage of the event or otherwise trying to get free art will not be allowed to participate in future chat events.
-If you do not receive a gift by the 31st of December and it is clear that the person has no intention of completing it soon or ever, you will recieve at least something, from one of the volunteers.

Sunday, July 5th, 2009 will be AnimeArtists' first Critique Day!!


Members (mecha-pilots and above), sign up here by linking 3 of your deviations to be critiqued in the chat (and put on display here at AAA for a week). Then on Sunday, you will be able to thumb those devs in the chat (once each) to receive critique from other chat members!



Rules:

-Thumb your devs for the purpose of critique only once each by saying Critique Please!
-Give what you get; those who don't give others critique or comments (or put no effort into their critiques) will not be allowed to participate in future Critique Days. (think of this as an exchange, try to give at least as many as the number of devs you put up for crit' )
-DO NOT FLAME. This is for the sharing of advice and constructive criticism only. Try to be thoughtful and not rude, insulting, or demeaning when giving feedback.
-Accept the critique gracefully. Do not whine or get upset if you feel someone's critique is unfair. Alert a mod to determine if it is a flame. Do not whine if it is a fair comment.
-People who are sensitive about their work should consider not participating in The Sunday Critique.
-Due to the fact that most of the members of AA draw, it's likely that other types of deviations such as photography, literature, and so on, may not recieve as many critiques as visual arts, so please keep this in mind when deciding whether to participate, though we will try to accomdate these kinds of deviations as well.
-Have fun
-If any chibis (guest rank) wish to participate, they will be required to first give a few critiques to others, as a good faith effort.
